Enroll System
My job is to make sure students are coded correctly so that they receive the appropriate services from the school that they need and also so that the school receives the correct funding from the state. We have an online enrollment format with several custom forms the parents must fill out. I have to track homeless, foster care, special education, dyslexia, at risk, out of state, out of district transfers, gifted and talented, ELL( English Language Learners) formerly known as ESL students, homebound, military connected, and 504 services. Each one of those has a different form for the parents to fill out. So I would have to go check each form on each student. You can imagine the time that took just searching. Needed this information to go in one time and go to a spreadsheet for me to check off on.
To save from me having to go and search each form on each individual student, Mr. Matheny came up with a google form that could be filled out and the information is sent to one spreadsheet to be able to view, sort and manipulate as needed. This is also a form that could be utilized district wide, not just for one individual. Now I can just go to one location to double check these indicators versus searching each new student and each form. This has cut down on the amount of time I have to spend searching for the data and am now able to complete my job in a much more timely manner for this task. Who does not love having all the data in one location to view?
Anytime that I am contemplating a better, more efficient way to complete a particular task, Mr. Matheny is the first person that comes to my mind to collaborate with. His knowledge of computer tasks and programs, and his ability to listen to the need and assess what will work best is beyond compare. And the best part is that he always has a smile on his face and makes you feel like you are his top priority!
